Williams, AZ is located at 6,700 feet in the largest spread of Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world. Within an hour’s drive of the Grand Canyon’s beautiful South Rim, Williams provides visitors with a variety of fun activities. The Grand Canyon Railway departs the depot daily for the 2 hour ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Adults and children alike, will enjoy the 160 acre Bearizona Drive-Thru Wildlife Park. Hop on Historic Route 66 and enjoy the ‘nicest stretch of the Mother Road’, experiencing the town known as the last town bypassed by Interstate 40.
As you stroll along Route 66, take in an historic walking tour of buildings in this old frontier town, named after mountain man Bill Williams. Seven lakes for fishing or just relaxing can be found within a short distance of downtown, hiking and biking in the Kaibab National Forest and camping are available for the outdoor enthusiast.
