Day 1: Start in Sedona

Take a Jeep Tour to Native American Ruins, Cliff Dwellings (Palatki, Honanki, etc.), or petroglyph sites. Take a Tour or Drive to Montezuma Castle and Well. Visit V-V Ranch Petroglyphs Site. Visit Native American Jewelry/Arts/Crafts/Culture Shops & Galleries.

Day 2: Drive to Williams, AZ

Overnight at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. Take the train to the Grand Canyon the next day. The Grand Canyon Railway departs the depot daily for the 2 hour ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Spend the day at the South Rim. Overnight in Tusayan.

Day 3: Drive to Tuba City, AZ

Attend a Hopi dance provided by Moenkopi Legacy Inn and Suites. Overnight at Moenkopi.

Day 4: Drive through Hopi and Navajo Reservations to Monument Valley

Tour of Hopi villages. Visit Native craft shops. Overnight at Gouldings Lodge or The View at Monument Valley.

Day 5: Tour of Monument Valley, then drive to Farmington, NM

Overnight in Farmington, NM.

Day 6: Drive to Aztec, NM

Half-day tour of Aztec Ruins in the morning. Lunch in Aztec. Half-day tour of Chaco Canyon in the afternoon. Slightly northwest of the visitor center begins the 9-mile one-way loop road that takes visitors around Chaco Canyon. Visitors can stop at any of these prehistoric sites with short, self-guiding trails, as time allows:

  • Hungo Pavi

  • Chetro Ketl

  • Pueblo Bonito

  • Pueblo del Arroyo (just a short way northwest drive off the main loop road)

  • Casa Rinconada

Overnight in Aztec.

Day 7: Drive to Acoma Pueblo, NM

Morning tour of Sky City and Cultural Center. Drive to Albuquerque in late afternoon.

Day 8: Drive to Santa Fe

Spend the day walking around Santa Fe's historic Plaza and the art galleries on Canyon Road. Drive back to Albuquerque in the evening.

Day 9: Albuquerque

Spend the morning in Albuquerque, shopping in Old Town or taking the tram to the Crest, or visiting the Petroglyph Park. Fly out in the late afternoon.
