For those interested, we can spend the afternoon/evening hiking down into the canyon on Bright Angel Trail or Kiabab Trail. Also a visit to Hermits Rest is in order. Lodging for the night at Grand Canyon.

  • An alternative here is that you could take a mule ride into the canyon and lodge at Phantom Ranch for the night in their cabins. They provide a wonderful dinner and breakfast along with comfortable lodging. This is a great way to see the canyon from top to bottom without hiking the whole thing.

Day 7: After further exploring the canyon and a sunrise walk along the Rim (Very beautiful and offers a great experience for all. You will overlook the Bright Angel Trail and look down into the canyon to the bridge crossing the Colorado River at Phantom Ranch. Usually you can see the mule trains preparing for their early departure up the canyon and hikers departing from Phantom Ranch. We will then depart for Sedona. Along the way we will take the scenic route into Flagstaff through the San Francisco Peaks. We will pass very near to Humphrey’s Peak, the highest in the range. Visits will be made to Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater National Monument. These are both near or in the Painted desert and worth the visit. Afterwards, we will descend into Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon. Lodging for the night in Sedona.
