Suggested Tour Itinerary #5

Salt Lake City, UT to Phoenix, AZ

Trail of the Ancients

(15 Days/14Nights)

The Ancestral Puebloans inhabited the Colorado Plateau for hundreds of years, yet questions remain: who they were, how they lived, and what they believed.  This route is heavily laden with clues: cliff dwellings, rock art, and pottery shards.  Chaco Culture National Historic Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Hovenweep, Aztec, Canyon DeChelly, Navajo, and Canyon of the Ancients National Monuments are centerpieces to their world.  These and other clusters of Anasazi remains, Edge of the Cedars State Park & Museum and the Anasazi Heritage Center offer a glimpse into their beliefs and culture.  A world of opportunity, discovery, and adventure awaits you on the Four Corners’ Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway.
